Please enjoy your visit here and join me in my love affair with glass. Glass is a wonderfully sensuous medium. It is hard and strong yet can be heated until fluid. It can be opaque or transparent so light can bounce off or pass through and create beautiful patterns on nearby surfaces, emulating the effects of the sun through moving water. Different colored glasses can be heated and swirled together to create wonderful designs/patterns that can dazzle the eye. It can be smooth as the surface of a pond or craggy as a rock face.

My website shows how I exploit the inherent beauty of glass creating objects that reflect my visions of beauty and form.

Artist’s Statement

I have always loved colors, textiles, and trips to art museums and galleries.

My fascination with kiln-formed glass began while a student at the University of California, San Diego. For my R&R I enrolled in the college craft center where I tried my hand at photography, jewelry and pottery. All challenging, satisfying and fun, BUT then I discovered fused glass and I was hooked. I am fascinated by the complexities of the kiln-formed glass processes. I love to experiment with color combinations and patterns. Often it is the random pieces of fused glass that sit around my studio that inspire me and as I put the pieces together, in the manner of a jigsaw puzzle, and as the work goes through numerous firings, the completed piece emerges. In these pieces of glass I see beauty of color and light and this makes my life whole.
