“Catch a Wave” created by glass artist Candace Kahn.
Each elegant wave is made from hundreds of pieces of hand cut transparent glass bits in various shades of blue and green. Each piece of glass is then individually placed to create these colorful waves. Clear and colored frit (small ground pieces of glass) is added just prior to fusing to create the illusion of foam that is formed when waves roll through the ocean and then proceed to crash onto the beach.
Each wave is fired in a kiln just enough to fuse the pieces together yet retain a wonderful texture. Each wave is individually made by the artist and there will be variations.
Available in 12″, 14″ or 16″ waves in a custom made steel stand.
